SCAR AND POSTPARTUM
What is C-Section Scar and Postpartum Massage
C-section Scar and Postpartum Massage is a specialized therapeutic service designed to support the healing process of mothers who have undergone a Cesarean section. This massage therapy treatment focuses on reducing scar tissue adhesions, ehancing mobility, and alleviating pain or discomfort associated with the C-section scars. It also addresses the broader needs of postpartum recovery, such as improving circulation, reducing swelling, and aiding in the recovery of the core and pelvic floor muscles. This therapy is tailored to the unqiue needs of each client, ensuring a holistic approach to both physical and emotional healing.
This approach maximizes healing ensuring mothers have the support they need for a full and empowering recovery experience.
What to Expect During Treatment
During a Scar and Postpartum Massage session you can expect a safe, comfortable and supportive environment. The treatment usually begins with a consultation to discuss your medical history, current concerns and specific goals. This is followed by a gentle examination of the scar and surrounding areas. Next postural and mobility tests to check for any compensations that may occur because of the cesarean.
The massage itself involves specialized techniques to gently mobilize the scar tissue, reduce adhesions, and promote healing. Nicole may use manual techniques and, when appropriate, a Neurostim Micropoint Stimulation Machine to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment. Sessions may also include general postpartum massage techniques to address whole-body relaxation and recovery.
What Scars Do I Work On?
This therapy focuses primarily on C-section scars, both recent and older, to help with their healing and integration. Additionally, Nicole can work on other types of surgical scars related to childbirth, such as those from hysterectomies, episiotomies, or other abdominal surgeries. The approach is personalized, taking into account the age of the scar, its location and associated symptoms, ensuring that each client receives targeted and effective care.
